Youth Bridge Enthusiasm Shines at APBF Championships

By In News On 20th May 2025

On the third day of the 54th Asia Pacific Bridge Federation Championships, the championship venue witnessed a vibrant scene: a large group of young kids eagerly gathered for a local youth championship here.

The participants, aged between 8 and 12, have only learned bridge for one to two years. Despite this, they have already come to deeply appreciate the intellectual charm of bridge and the excitement of competition. These young learners were in another tournament here coinciding with the APBF Championships. The tournament, held by Hefei Economic and Technological Development Area, was divided into U12 and U10 divisions with 10 teams in each division.

After their matches, the young players toured the main APBF Championship venue. International players warmly welcomed them, taking several group photos. Upon learning that these children were local bridge students, they responded with enthusiastic applause and high-fives, offering heartfelt encouragement for the kids to continue their bridge journeys.

Anthony Ching, Chief TD of the Championships, Wang Yannan, the 1st Vice President of APBF, and Hou Xu, the coach of China open team, jointly presented awards to the winning teams after the game.
