
Buffett Cup 2025 concludes in Qingdao

The 2025 Buffett Cup came to a close in Qingdao, China, bringing together three top international teams representing Europe, China and the United States.
The competition featured two phases: a Teams event and a follow-up Individual tournament played in a Board-a-Match format. Both stages showcased high-level play and excellent sportsmanship from all participants.
Team Europe emerged on top in both stages of the event.
In the Teams competition, the final ranking was:
Europe 163 VP
USA 134.5 VP
China 134.5 VP
In the Individual event, players partnered with different teammates within their own squads, creating a dynamic and friendly competition that once again saw Europe finish ahead:
Europe 82
USA 78.5
China 55.5
WBF President Franck Riehm attended the Buffett Cup in Qingdao.
During his visit to China, he also visited two local schools where bridge is part of the educational programme. For the visit to the second school, in Hefei, he was joined by WBF Vice President and EBL President Eric Laurant. Together, they met representatives of the Hefei Municipal Government to discuss the promotion of bridge education and future cooperation initiatives.
