Gianarrigo Rona of Italy is the 10th President of the World Bridge Federation. He succeeded José Damiani of France who stepped down in Philadelphia ´10 after 16 years in office!

World Championship Scheme
The current WBF plan for the World Bridge Championships became effective in 2008.
The World Bridge Championships operates on a four-year cycle.

As from 2010, the WBF decision to gradually increase the age limit for senior players is fully implemented.
Seniors are now players who attain at least their 60th birthday in the year in question.
