World Youth Team Championships
The World Youth Team Championships are held every two years (now in the even numbered years). They comprise three Championships for which the Zonal Youth Teams Championships act as qualifying events and an invitation event for Kids teams
The events are as follows:
The World Junior Teams for the Jaime Ortiz-Patiño Trophy. This Championship is for Junior players who must not have achieved their 25th birthday by 31st December of the year prior to the year in which the competition is to take place
The World Youngsters teams for the José Damiani Cup. This Championship is for players who must not have achieved their 20th birthday by 31st December of the year prior to the year in which the competition is to take place.
The World Girls Teams Championship for the Gianarrigo Rona Trophy and this Championship is also for players who must not have achieved their 25th birthday by 31st December of the year prior to the year in which the competition is to take place.
The World Kids Teams Championship for the Koç University Trophy, and this championship is by invitation. This Championship is for players who must not have achieved their 15th birthday by 31st December of the year prior to the year in which the competition is to take place.

If any Zone does not fill its quota the first berth will be offered to Zone 1, the second to Zone 6.For the Girls Championship Zones 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8 are allowed to be represented by a Zonal Team, composed of players from different NBOs of that Zone.
