2008 Women's Bridge Festival

I am so pleased to be able to endorse this Women's Bridge Festival On Line – indeed a great initiative by the WBF Women's Committee under the leadership of its indefatigable Chairman, Anna Maria Torlontano.

As you may know, I am heavily committed to the promotion and development of Women’s Bridge, and to the involvement of women in our sport at all levels: as players, administrators, committee chairmen, teachers, tournament directors – the list is long.
To have an exciting new Festival, one that can involve women players all over the world, where they can make online friends and enjoy playing against participants from other parts of the globe is, I believe an excellent idea and I hope is one that will be embraced by all the NBOs and their players.

So please – do as Anna Maria requests and put a banner and link onto your websites, and let your women players know about this Festival so that they can join in and make it a real success.

And please remember that we hope to welcome your women's team to Beijing, where we may be able to provide them with free accommodation in apartments in the Media Olympic Village provided you are sending junior players to compete in the World Mind Sport Games
