Nissan Rand

Nissan Rand was born in present day Slovakia, but lives in Israel. He is a world expert in the field of animal nutrition, having published more than 200 scientific papers on the subject. He served as Chairman of the European Council on Poultry Nutrition (1989-98) and was inducted to the International Poultry Hall of Fame in 2000.

Dr Rand was elected to the Executive Committee of the European Bridge League in 1995 and was re-elected in 1999, serving until 2003. During his term in office, he led the EBL Seniors Committee to stardom. When he took over, Senior bridge was practically non-existent, but when he left, there were senior series on all major championships, in addition to a large number of Senior Congresses across Europe.

It was therefore natural that the World Bridge Federation asked him in 2000 to lead the newly established WBF Seniors Committee. He has accepted and carried out his duties in his familiar enthusiastic manner ever since.

Nissan Rand is himself an expert player. He was World Senior Champion in 1994 and has won several other medals and distinguished positions in high-level World and European competitions.
