Betty Ann KENNEDY of Shreveport LA, USA. One of the leading women players of the world. WBF Grand Master, and ACBL Grand Life MAster.
She has lectured on many bridge cruises and at many NABCs. Recipient of the 1985 Image Award. Was inducted into the Louisiana Hall of Fame 1993 (only the 2nd woman to be so honored). In 1990 she was entered into the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Hall of Fame. Member NABC Appeals Committee, a past vice-president of ACBL Unit 170, past member of District 10 Judiciary Committee, served on World Bridge Olympiad Appeals Committee 1992 and was for many years Chairman of ACBL Unit 170 Appeals Committee.
A world champion several times over, she won the Venice Cup 1974, 1976; World Women's Pairs 1982, Women's Olympiad Teams 1984. Placed 2nd Venice Cup 1981, 1985; World Women's Pairs 1978, placed 5th World Women's Pairs and 6th World Mixed Teams 1974.
She won USWBC 1993, Master Mixed Teams 1960, Women's KO Teams 1978, 1980, 1983, 1987, 2000; North American Women's Swiss Teams 1983, 1995; Life Master Women's Pairs 1990, Women's BAM Teams 1992, 1995; Women's Pairs 1993, 2nd in Women's Pairs 1960, 1990, 1992; Life Master Women's Pairs 1971, 1981; Women's KO Teams 1982, 1992, 2000; North American Women's Swiss Teams 1985, 2000; Women's BAM Teams 1986, 1991.
She has made many trips to China and won the Ambassador's Cup in Beijing 1988, Open Teams in Hong Kong 1981, International Bridge Team Championship in Beijing 1993 and placed 3rd in the First International Invitational Chinese Bridge Tournament Open Teams 1981. |
